Food brings people together, right?!

Jaz and Nicole from EatenPathNola enjoy dinner at Compere Lapin for Coolinary Month in New Orleans

I sat with Dr. Nicole Caridad, a dope cultural food and travel blogger and influencer who runs EatenPathNola for the re-launch of my podcast project, Spirit in the Material World. chat about Diaspora connections, cultural history of foods, and the best places to eat when in New Orleans.

We first met via Instagram where she posts delicious New Orleans food recommendations accompanied by BIPOC food history. Then we met IRL for dinner at Compere Lapin during Coolinary Month which is like Restaurant Week but a whole month of special pre fixe menus at restaurants around the city during August (low season here). She got me to try crackling pig ears and I forever trust her food recs!

Check out our conversation below (or on Spotify and Apple podcasts) as we explore Latinx Heritage Month and anti-Blackness, decolonizing travel and why consistency is key as a content creator.
